Whimsical cat notecards of my Cats and Favorite Places series. The Favorite Places started in San Antonio, Texas, but are expanding to favorite places I visited or would love to visit. 5x7" blank folded cards in eco (commercially compostable) sleeve.
Pedro Huizar was a Spanish craftsman, one of the builders of Mission San Jose. His Spanish fiancée was coming to rejoin him in San Antonio, but her ship was shipwrecked, and Rosa died. Pedro carved the Rose Window in her honor. I imagined two cats with their names at the Rose Window.
Happy Cats was painted to celebrate San Antonio's decision to become a no-kill city by 2012. Unfortunately, despite a lot of progress, the city still euthanizes cats and dogs.
